E.g. to have all commits from a specific user highlighted.

OK, filtering also does the job.

But with highlighting You can see all the commits and your selected commits together.

We have an internal RFE "Log: filter should (optionally) not hide but gray unmatched commits" (SG-12145). This seems to be a more general approach to the problem. zuber, will it be OK for you if I will change this topic to match the more general approach?
