I think the problem comes from Windows 10 default system font size.
It is Segoe UI 9 that is way too small. One may change it with Winaero Tweaker. 10 was enough for me. As a side effect, all system menus and dialogs begin looking nice.
Nonetheless, an option to change system font and its size will be highly anticipating in SmartGit. Like in IntelliJ IDEA, BTW.
